Everyone has popped a bubble in bubble wrap packing in their life. It is extremely enjoyable to do as a child and even as an adult. But this joy of popping bubbles is not the primary purpose of bubble wrap. Its nature and properties are all created to ensure that items are kept safe when they are being transported from one place to another.
The first thing that comes to your mind when you want to pack fragile breakable items is using bubble wrap. The kind of bubble wrap that you generally see can be used for many purposes and it can prevent items from getting damaged due to vibrations that occur during transport. The manufacturing of bubble wrap is fairly simple. The bubbles are formed when air is trapped within two plastic sheets. They were originally used for the packing and transport of electronic items but their usage has widened over time. You can find wholesale suppliers to buy Bubble Wrap Packaging so that you can get a cheaper price on the total cost of the packing. The sizes of bubble wrap range from ¼” to about 1” in diameter and when you go from a smaller size to a larger size, the impact resistance of the packaging is increased.
There are 2 sides of bubble wrap sheets which is the side with the bubbles and the flat side. When you are packing fragile items, the side with the bubbles should be facing inwards. This way, the bubbles will get a firmer grip of the item and whenever there is an accidental shift of the box during moving, the bubbles will protect the item against external pressure and forces. A benefit of having the flat side exposed to outside is that you can easily write on it and label the item that you have packed. And it is much easier to put tape over a flat surface. Bubble wrap is increasingly used during a move. And one of the fragile items that we pack during a move is China plates. You can first wrap them in packing paper and then use a layer of bubble wrap with the smaller bubbles. Wrap each individual plate or dish and you can then pack them inside a box. Make sure that the plates are on the side and not stacked one on top of each other.
You should use multiple layers of bubble wrap when packing glass items. But bubble wrap should be used as the secondary layer and packing paper should be used first. Depending on the size of the glass item, especially if it is a furniture piece, you can use larger bubbles that have more strength. When packing wine glasses, you should use bubble wrap around the step all the way up to the top of the glass and secure it with tape. You can ball up some paper and insert it inside the bowl. And use packing paper around the whole glass to complete the packing. Make sure that the box you are using to transport the wine glasses is pre-lined with bubble wrap and the glasses are kept with their stem up.
